Jay Vallo (Nah-Sde-Te, Jeannette A. Vallo) is of the Acoma Pueblo Eagle Clan and has been an active potter since 1981 working with fine line bowls, jars and vases. She is the daughter of potter Edna Chino and sister of potter Corrine Chino whose work is also presented on our site. She has regularly exhibited at the New Mexico State Fair where she has won numerous awards for the outstanding quality of her fine line work.
Jay’s work is featured in Dillingham’s “Fourteen Families in Pueblo Pottery”; Berger and Schiffer’s “Pueblo & Navajo Contemporary Pottery” and Dr. Gregory Schaaf’s “Southern Pueblo Pottery: 2000 Artist Biographies”.
