"I'm a Native from Albuquerque now living in Maine.... Your website has the most authentic Indian crafts I've found in all of New England. I'm very familiar with the Indian arts and I know your goods are authentic just by looking at them. They're beautiful... Your website made me homesick!"

Mother Earth & the Human Spirit made One

As with Pueblo Pottery, people buy Native American jewelry for several reasons. Some like it as a statement of personal fashion or taste in art; some see it as a connection to the culture and spirituality of Native Americans; others are aware of its value as an investment not unlike fine art paintings or sculpture; and for some people it is all of these things and more.

Whether you buy the occasional piece or are an avid collector, you are seeking out pieces that are special to you in their aesthetic appeal, their quality workmanship, and that are guaranteed authentic - made by Native Americans - not "Native American style". As we have been able to provide special pieces of pueblo pottery by individual artists for your homes and collections, we now offer a select collection of fine quality Native American jewelry to you. This jewelry is not factory made, imported from a Third World country, or mass produced in shops by unnamed craftspeople.

It is our desire to share a mutual value with you for these beautiful creations of the Native American people, a product of their ancient culture and spirituality. In the future there will be work by more artists representing different traditions and tribes. We will add to our selection always holding to the measure of value that the pieces we offer to you are pieces we have individually selected as we would for ourselves.

Each piece is proudly handcrafted and signed (when possible) by the Native American artist who created it. Remember that fraud abounds in the sale of "Native American" jewelry so beware the "unbelievable price" on an "incredible piece" because it probably isn't credible nor believable. True Native American silversmiths and lapidarists do not give away their beautiful work for a few dollars. Beware the similar-looking, non--Indian jewelry, Asian copies, plastic stones and nickel silver pieces that contain no silver. Pueblo Pottery Maine meets the strict standards of the

Indian Arts & Crafts Association (IACA) and has achieved the Association's certification as an ethical business supporting the promotion and protection of authentic Native American art and culture. We have chosen to meet a profession, industry standard of authenticity that you can count on. We are also a member of the Southwestern Association for Indian Arts (SWAIA)

Pueblo Pottery Maine will do its best to supply biographical information on the artists whenever possible however it is decidedly more difficult to obtain than information from those who create pueblo pottery. This may well have to do with the nature of the Native American silversmith/lapidarist's work which often entails possessing and working with precious metals and stones of considerable value.
